"Medium verging on deep purple in colour. Iron shavings, bramble and blueberry/blackberry preserves on the nose. Fresh elevated acidity, rich ripe fruit, elevated dusty tannin and a dried-earthy finish. (SCJ)"

"Most of the fruit for the 2022 Zinfandel Old Vine comes from Sonoma. Ripe ruby hued, the wine is fresh with ripe berries and white pepper spice, as well as roses. Medium-bodied, with good structure, fresh acidity, and fine tannins, it has a fully dry style. It is an outstanding value and would also be an outstanding wine to pour by the glass. Drink it over the next few years."

"Bedrock Wine Co. makes wine across California with a focus on reviving old and abandoned vineyard sites, some of which are over 100 years old. Despite its century-old influences, the winery produces innovative, modern wines like single-vineyard Sémillon and heritage blends. One of those expressions is Bedrock's delicious and approachable Old Vine Zinfandel, perfect for that friend who's just embarking on their red wine journey. It offers a bold, fruit-forward flavor profile without tasting overwhelming or overly tannic. More standout notes include jammy blackberries, cranberries, and orange peel with flecks of black pepper. The mouthfeel is deep, but its natural acidity keeps it refreshing."

"The 2022 Zinfandel Old Vine is an absolute delight. Fresh, floral and fruity, the Old Vine is a terrific wine to drink now and over the next handful of years, while the fruit remains vibrant. Dollops of Carignan, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Cinsault and other varieties round out a blend crafted from a number of top sites in the Bedrock portfolio. The Old Vine Zinfandel is especially vibrant and refreshing this year. Best of all, it should be terrific value."

"Dynamic and generous, this Zin combines old-school briar with sleek suppleness, serving up stylish flavors of raspberry and cherry accented by savory pepper, cinnamon and garrigue tones that sail on the rich finish. Drink now through 2033. —T.F."
