"Brambles, strawberry tart and violets with coconut, peach yogurt and a hint of rocky minerality to it. Full-bodied, fine-grained juicy tannins with bright acidity that balances out the palate. Nice drinkability and vibrancy. Drink or hold."

"Both of these blocks are planted to Clone 2, a virus-free clone that came to FPS from Lodi. Block 7 was planted in 1975 and Block 22 in 1995. The 2022 Zinfandel Blocks 7 & 22 features floral, tea-like and even orange-like aromas, plus bold berry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, silky-textured and open, with only the slightest hint of raisined fruit and a hint of French oak (one-third new barrels for 15 months). Finishing long and velvety, it's a fine Zin for drinking young, at a reasonable price."

"Full of power and concentration, this serious Zinfandel delivers deeply toned flavors of black fruit, mixed berries, pine and even tree pitch. Distinctive and stimulating, this wine showcases how the variety can be expressive of where it is grown. The wine smells of Napa Valley in early autumn. —E.C.B."

"Aromas of raspberry liqueur, cassia bark and blackberry compote. The palate is full-bodied and framed by fine tannins. Fresh acidity carries notes of dark cherries, poached rhubarb, vanilla and graphite. Very well balanced. A blend of two vineyards, block 7 being planted in 1975 and block 22 in 1997. Aged for 15 months in 33% new French oak. Drink or hold."
