Tasting Notes
Produced at the historic Antica Distilleria Quaglia in Castenuovo Don Bosco, Piedmonte, by the modern vermouth master, Federico Ricatto, Volume Primo is a fresh, Mediterranean-styled Vermouth. A blend of 95% Moscato d’Asti and 5% Grillo Siciliano renders this fortified wine soft and fruity. The majority of its herbs come from Distilleria Quaglia’s own botanic fields, located in the hills of Asti. In addition to the classic bittering elements of wormwood & gentian, a list of botanicals including fresh thyme, sage, knapwood, chamomile, licorice root, and a touch of vanilla expand, sweeten, and deepen this beautiful dram. Grape must, a touch of sugar, and caramel provide Volume Primo body sans a cloying finish. 18% ABV
