- The Finca la Habanera Albillo Criollo is a passion project of the patriarch of the winery, Don Américo García Nuñez. In 1975, he planted a small quantity of this rarely celebrated varietal in the northernmost portion of the vineyard, the highest point of elevation on the island. Trained in Cordon Royat, the grapes are hand harvested, fermented with indigenous yeast in oak, and only 2933 bottles are produced annually. This is an homage to not only the grandfather of this property but also this almost forgotten varietal.
