At least this is the first impression, then when you reach the wine's deep core you find gigantic concentration and off-the-scale wet stone minerality. "The 2023 Riesling Thörnicher Ritsch Auslese comes from an extremely steep site and was the first pick of the harvest at this estate. Made from grapes with botrytized berries, it has a relatively shy nose and plunges into candied lemon zest on the palate. It remains serene and slim, with concentration but no obvious botrytized tones. This wine stays clear as a bell and shines with lemony purity."

"For a young Mosel riesling Auslese this is remarkably drinkable. Incredibly bright with very focused citrus, lemon balm and caramelized pineapple aromas. Excellent concentration and finesse on the super-clean palate this has a wonderful balance. The finish moves with the precision and strength of prima ballerina over the palate. Barely off-dry for this category. Vegan. Drink or hold."
