"The very tasty 2022 Terrantez do Pico, from very scarce (and expensive) grapes, was produced with grapes that are different from the Terrantez from Madeira. It's also quite different, with notes of tangerine skin and high acidity. It has a very mineral-laced palate. It fermented in old barrels used for fortified wine. It has very good freshness and a vibrant and salty palate. It turned more honeyed with time in the glass. 1,915 bottles were filled in June 2023. I tasted the vintages between 2022 and 2017, and the differences between vintages were amazing. The 2018 was super young, precise and undeveloped, while the 2019 had more ripeness. They were all different but with something in common—salinity and minerality—and they can certainly age!"
