- Blanco tequila produced in El Medineño, Jalisco, by Familia Landeros (NOM 1599)
- Maestro Tequilero René Carranza
- 100% Azul aka Blue Weber (Agave tequilana)
- Cooked over 24 hours using an autoclave
- Crushed using a small roller mill
- Natural fermentation using ambient yeast, 6–8 days in open-air stainless steel vats
- Distilled twice using stainless steel pot stills
- Rested 15 days in stainless steel vats before bottling
- Mint, oregano, watermelon rind, and a sour, lactic vibe of raita or kefir on the nose is followed by an intricate and structured palate of red berry, lime zest, wet hay, black pepper, toasted fennel, and a bolt of candied cinnamon that stings and then vanishes—quite a ride!
- Verified additive free by Tequila Matchmaker
- 46% ABV
Previously available only at the fabrica (distillery), the coveted Atanasio Origenes has finally landed stateside in the US! An explicit homage to tequila as it was made over a hundred years ago, the Origenes was fermented with at least ten percent of the agave fibers remaining in the vat; the spirit features a higher alcohol content than the Landeros family’s core offerings and boasts the kind of lactic and herbaceous profile that easily draws comparison to both historic tequila and mezcal producers alike. Production is limited annually but is certain to please any agave aficionado who crosses its path.
