"This 2022 California Syrah was made with grapes coming from different plots across Santa Barbara. The lots were each made with 20 to 60 percent whole-cluster fermentation for some added spice. This Syrah is a damn triumph for the price. It has ripe black brambly fruit with a hint of oak and cooking spices on the nose. The palate is impeccably balanced with amazing fruit depth held up by a bursting cloud of acidity, lifting the aromas to your senses. So damn good."

"The 2022 Syrah (California) is fabulous. Rich, ample and vibrant, the 2022 offers a beguiling mix of dark red-toned fruit, mint, blood orange, spice, licorice and pomegranate. This is a total knockout and another absolutely delicious entry-level offering in this range."

"The 2022 Syrah California is peppery and classic, with black plum and a nice background note of Kalamata olive. Full-bodied, with a ripe, velvety texture, supple richness, and a touch of cured meat, it remains low alcohol and fresh. It is drinking well now and can be enjoyed over the next few years."

"Bedrock's entry-level 2022 Syrah is sourced from declassified fruit from vineyards including Hudson in Napa Valley and Bien Nacido, White Hawk and Nolan in Santa Barbara County. Fermented with 40% to 50% whole clusters and matured in puncheons and foudres, it opens with soaring violet perfume and wafts of blackcurrant, pepper, mint chocolate and charcuterie. The medium-bodied palate offers floral flavors structured by rounded tannins and juicy acidity, and it has a long, easygoing finish."
