"Having spent two years on the lees, the NV Sparkling Wine Perpetual Reserve is made from 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir, with the bulk of the fruit coming from Anderson Valley and the producer's estate Bearwallow Vineyard, the rest from Corralitos. At 3 grams per liter dosage, most of its base comes from the 2021 vintage, and it shows that aged complexity while maintaining the freshness of the current vintage. The texture and finesse of the bubbles are important to winemaker Jeff Brinkman, and this sparkling wine excels at both. Enjoy now and for another decade."

"The NV Perpetual Reserve is based on the 2021 vintage, with 30% reserve wines back to 2016. Bright, airy and layered, the Perpetual Reserve bristles with palpable energy. Crushed rocks, citrus peel, white flowers, mint and a hint of tangerine peel are all beautifully delineated. This is a seriously gorgeous wine endowed with dynamic tension that gradually unfurls with time in the glass. The blend is 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir, 65% from Bearwallow and 25% from Mt. Pajaro, fermented 79% in neutral oak and 21% in tank. Disgorged: April 25, 2024. Dosage is 4.7 grams per liter.-- Antonio Galloni"

"The NV Perpetual Reserve Sparkling from Rhys blends Anderson Valley's Bearwallow Vineyard and Mt. Pajaro Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It contains 50% current vintage—2020—and 50% reserve wines dating to 2016. The nose is lovely, evoking yellow orchard fruits, fresh lilies and crushed hazelnuts. Medium-bodied and with polished yet nervy concentration and fine mousse, this is a promising start to Rhys's sparkling wine program, which, given the heights they've achieved elsewhere, is a very exciting project indeed."

"Light gold with faint, fine bubbles. Smells of wet pavement, lemon pith and lemon oil. The froth is quite delicate and soft, like you might expect on an older wine, with very tasty flavours of white flowers, dried lemon peel, kelp and a hint of butterscotch. Notes of nut skin and warm bread linger in the finish along with a nice citrus-oil brightness. Very good acidity but I'm surprised a bit at the lack of fizz. Nonetheless, the flavours are delicious.
