Single Malt Scotch Whisky 'Fallow Edition'

• Limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky distilled at Lochlea [lock•LEE] in South Ayrshire (Lowlands)
• Second release of “Fallow Edition”, the third of four expressions in Lochlea’s annual, seasonal single malt series
• Produced from 100% malted barley grown on the Lochlea farm
• Twice distilled on bespoke Forsyths copper pot stills
• Aged in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks; non-age statement
• Rich manuka honey and golden syrup on the nose precede a palate of ground coffee beans and spiced ginger candy with notes of crushed almonds on a medium-length finish
• No added coloring
• Non-chill filtered; 46% ABV

Each year Lochlea releases four limited-edition, seasonal single malts to reflect the farming calendar. The second edition, or “second crop” of Lochlea’s annual Fallow release represents the farm in autumn, when fields are left fallow (unsown for a period of time to allow the soil to rest and restore its fertility) after harvest. While last year’s edition was aged solely in Oloroso sherry butts, this year’s release sees the addition of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, resulting in a rich, autumnal dram.
