If there’s one thing rum collectors consistently clamor for, it’s cask strength, additive-free Demerara rum, and Holmes Cay has delivered in spades with this 18-year-old expression from Demerara Distillers Limited, Guyana’s last remaining rum distillery. The French Savalle still was originally installed at the Uitvlugt [EYE•flut] Distillery around 1921 but was relocated to Plantation Diamond Distillery in 2000 where it now produces rum for nearly every expression of El Dorado’s cask aged blended rums.
