The harvested grapes are transported in small cases directly into the cellar, where they are very gently and carefully pressed.

"Very complex, with a slew of subtle, mature aromas and notes of brioche and tarte tatin. Lots of leesy depth and a wealth of dried pears and candied citrus on the medium-bodied palate, the mousse and lively acidity lifting the long, creamy finish. A cuvee of 40% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay and 10% each of pinot blanc, pinot gris and gruner veltliner. Based on the 2019 vintage, with 45% reserve wines. Disgorged September 2023. Drink now."

"I tasted this last winter and scored it 16.5 but tasting it as one of the 41 Austrian Sekts on offer at the VieVinum Sekt Showcase showed just how good it is in its category. It's deeply leesy, nutty and toasty, the autolytic character casting a golden light over everything; it's juicy and plummy, with bright acidity to keep everything fresh. There's an earthy complexity that reminds me of really good Bergkäse (Alpine cheese) – with which this would be delicious. (TQT)"

"Bründlmayer's recent disgorgement of the NV Brut Reserve is predominantly based on the fruits of the 2017 harvest and was disgorged in March of this year after 47 months sur lattes. This is a fruit-intense yet fine and purely aromatic assemblage of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Grüner Veltliner that opens intensely fruity as well as toasty and with brioche as well as iodine aromas. Seriously complex! Full-bodied and quite rich on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, intense yet pure and saline-finishing Brut Reserve with structure, finesse and a dry kind of roundness. This is an impressive aperitif that certainly goes well with oysters, tapas, antipasti, shrimp skewers, salmon tartare, fish, poultry..."

"A very complex and sophisticated, champagne-inspired Austrian sparkling wine. Incredible harmony of deep creaminess from lees autolysis, racy acidity and tingling mousse. Lots of candied citrus with a touch of smoke, a wonderful interplay of youthful freshness and maturing aromas. Very long, pure finish. Primarily from the 2018 vintage with 35% reserve wines. A half-and-half cuvee of chardonnay and pinot noir. Disgorged August 2023. Drink or hold."
