"Grapefruit, guavas, green chilis and worm salt on the nose of this fruity and slightly smoky white. It's medium- to full-bodied with attractive earthy and spicy undertones. Drink now."

"Powerful Sauvignon Blanc aromas – unmistakable – grassy, herbal but not in the least unripe. There's bottled green figs and fresh citrus, too, and very little indication of the oak, though there is a suggestion of creamy lees and perhaps a hint of spice as it warms up in the glass as well as a touch of flintiness. On the palate, this is equally powerful, mouth-filling flavours that match the aromas and it's almost dense in texture, yet still very fresh. Intense but balanced in this style. Long finish, dry and yet with plenty of fruit sweetness, and roundness from the oak. Subtle it isn't, but I don't think it is supposed to be, and its a polished not a raw power. (JH)"

"Recognisably Sauvignon Blanc in aromas of herbs, citrus and ripe green fruits. On the nose, the impression of oak is very slight, just a touch mealy/spicy. In the mouth, the oak is equally discreet, adding some structure (light grip) and roundness but no real oaky flavour (and this is the point of the 'white-toasted' barrels). The oak just adds another layer of flavour to the excellent fruit. Fresh, layered and long. Happily, this tastes bone dry on the finish even though the fruit is fully ripe. Long finish. (JH)"
