"The 2019 Le Pied à l'‰trier remains a young wine, even four years after the grapes were picked. Smooth and elegant, it is filled with fresh blueberries and blackcurrants, as well as an element of reduction that slightly detracts from the aromatic appeal. Get past that, and it's a well-judged, fruity yet savory style, concluding with tension and line that can only be chalk-soil-derived. It's one of those wines that grows on you—in a good way!"
