- Straight rye whiskey distilled by New Riff in Newport, Kentucky
- New Riff’s signature rye mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted rye, all non-GMO
- Open top, sour mash fermented
- Twice distilled; the first run in a Vendome copper column still followed by distillation in a copper continuous doubler
- Aged a minimum of 8 years in toasted and charred American oak barrels
- Produced with water sourced from a high-mineral, limestone-fed aquifer located directly beneath the distillery
- Rye grass, cinnamon, and red apple on the nose precede a medium-bodied palate brimming with baking spice, spearmint, and light oak with a finish of lingering clove, peppercorn, and grassy minerality
- Non-chill filtered; 50% ABV
New Riff Distilling’s oldest age-statement rye whiskey to date delivers a double dose of spice from their signature 100% rye mash bill and 8 years spent aging in barrel, rounding out the high-toned herbal notes of the grain with oaky depth. Due to the small run of production in New Riff’s early years, this release blends rye whiskeys from two distilling seasons—each component aged 8 years—and is not labeled as Bottled in Bond, though it meets all other requirements of a bonded whiskey.
