Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad:
The name derives from ancient Romans who with their legions and cavalry passed through this area (Reiter = rider; Pfad = path). Reiterpfad is located at the foot of the Haardt in Ruppertsberg. With sandstone and some limestone in the soil, it is one of von Winning’s best premier crus. Completely fermented in oak and aged on the lees for one year.

"The 2023 Riesling Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad Erste Lage was harvested throughout parcels classified as Grosse Lage within this Erste Lage site. It was made partly in large neutral barrels, Doppelstück, Stück and tonneaux. Reduction is tame but definitely subdues the nose—only gentle citrus escapes for now. Juiciness, roundness and clarity, however, are superbly bright and present on the palate. Lovely concentration boasts depth and smoothness, but the footprint remains slender, fine and bright. This is an elegant, smooth and beautifully layered wine with much understatement. Everything is here, and nothing is loud. (Bone-dry)"
