"From a site that is usually all about sleek elegance, this is remarkably substantial and richly textural on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Wonderful fine tannins, candied citrus fruit and complex dried flower character. Lovely fresh acidity for the hot and dry vintage at the long, delicately spicy finish."

"The 2022 Riesling Ried Heiligenstein is grown on sandstone. The nose is creamy and smooth, enveloping ripe apricot flesh. The palate adds bright, ripe Amalfi lemon to this creamy, nutty apricot combo, giving even more outline to this juiciness. Salty stone lies at the core, completely bound up in citric freshness, apricot ripeness and oaky cream, tapering to a precise, juicy, immense finish. (Bone-dry)"

"Marked cedary and complex aroma of spiced citrus and a herbal freshness. Precise, crisp and yet generous in apricot-orange fruit. Powerful, long and ageworthy. (JH)"

"The 2021 Riesling Ried Heiligenstein was harvested on Permian sandstone. A gentle creaminess on the nose dissipates to reveal savory herbs and crushed yarrow. The palate comes in with juiciness, with rounded stone fruit framed by zesty ripeness that makes the mouth water. This fullness of fruit, with deep, spicy concentration, seeps even deeper into creaminess and stone. A powerful but understated wine of serene flow, of quiet depth, this has undoubted power, with a long, lemony flavor. (Bone-dry)"

"The 2021 Ried Heiligenstein 1–TW shows a clear, intense and spicy nose of concentrated Riesling and apricot fruit. Rich and intense but also delicate and elegant on the palate, this is a complex yet sensual, persistently salty and aromatic Heiligenstein with plenty of substance and impressive length. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg, September 2023."

"The 2017 Riesling Ried Heiligenstein originates from a vintage with some botrytis from mid-October onwards, and while this was stringently selected, some of this concentrated richness is here. This is a held-back release reserved for restaurant clients. St John's Wort and dried peach, lovely and lifted, define the fragrant nose. The balm-like creaminess of evolution rounds out the slender, taut palate. Beautiful concentration is expressed as dried and fresh lemon peel, luminous, serene and cooling. This cooling, brightening effect lasts and lasts. This is just another reminder of what time does to Riesling, as beguiling as it may be in its first youth. (Bone-dry)"
