"Made in the style of an Auslese, the 2023 Riesling Josef Vineyard is fabulous. It comes from a single pick on a southern hillside block with high vigor, resulting in an explosively aromatic wine with a citrus-inflected nose of grapefruit, ginger and spice. The sugar, ripeness and acidity are all elevated, and it works magnificently well. The finish rings long with echoes of citrus zest."

"#62 Top 100 Wines of USA 2023:Staggering aromas of white flowers, apricot and exotic fruit with delicate baking spice notes. However, it's the staggering interplay of mineral acidity and succulent fruit that makes this impeccably crafted wine so amazing. Rolls over your palate like a great wave that pulls you out into the ocean and doesn't want to let you go. Drink or hold."

"This late-picked Riesling, from 50-year-old vineyards, takes it time opening but with a few good swirls reveals citrus, honey, ginger and floral nuances. The palate hits hard and fast with intense sweetness, but acidity rushes in to save the day, making this a refreshing drop in spite of itself, with concentration, layers of flavor and a long fruity finish."
