Rare Oloroso Gran Reserva Emp Eugenia Emilio Lustau

Aged for 15 years in Jerez de la Frontera, since the foundation of its Solera by Mr. Emilio Lustau in 1921. This wine commemorates Eugenia de Montijo’s famous visit to Jerez as France’s last Empress. Dark in color with hues of worn khaki, this wine celebrates concentrated aromas of freshly cut wood, roasted pecans and even salted licorice. A rich and seductive wine built to accompany roasted wild game, mature cheeses and spicy curries.

Tasting Notes

Dark gold in color with khaki hints. Penetrating dry and nutty aromas with great concentration. A rich and mellow wine, with immense flavors of smoky wood, of fruit, of prunes and bitter chocolate. Complex, generous on the palate, smooth and warming, leaving a clean, lightly acid lingering aftertaste.

"From a solera founded in 1921 to commemorate the visit of the Empress of France, this isbottled with an average of 15 years. Not quite so much 'olor but definitely stands out forits harmony and integration. There is never a false note even with fairly pushed oxidation, with seamless layers of dried fruits and nuts. Very fine."
