A Touriga Nacional-based blend of traditional Douro red varieties, grown on schist-sandstone soils at 600 meters of elevation.
Tawny wines are aged oxidatively in barrel, and typically blend multiple vintages together to achieve the desired age character. Colheitas, on the other hand, are tawny wines made from a single harvest. Kopke ages their Colheitas in oak barrels for periods of time that can vary, but never less than 7 years. They are bottled from cask as the market dictates.

"Mid tawny colour with some red still showing. Nutty, earthy, woody (not oaky) alongside dried dates and figs. Much more fruit on the palate, all that dried-fruit richness of dates rather than citrus-peel freshness. Deep and long and just fresh enough for balance. Shows how different and distinctive colheita wines can be compared with age-dated wines. Savoury and complex on the finish. Sweet but somehow with a dry intensity at the very end. (JH)"

"Lightish golden brown. Layered aromas that are both sweet and savoury – mushrooms, dried fruits – figs and brown apricots (the unsulphured kind) – walnuts, polished wood. Rich and broad in the mouth, with fine structure from fully resolved tannins and fresh acidity. Long, moreish, captivating, with a salted molasses aftertaste. Gloriously compelling. Sip very slowly.
