Im Pitterberg:
Pitterberg lies in a small convex slope in the upper Nahe Valley in the middle of the Pitterberg vineyard. The south facing site is ensured sufficient sunshine that warms the grey Devon slate and its weathered debris. The soil is highly mineral; very fine loam covers the slate. The soil is well-drained and holds little moisture, which can lead to dryness in summer. Nightly fall winds are diverted by hill. This GG is picked mainly in the old domaine vineyards in the oldest an steepest part of Pitterberg, high density of plant up to 7500 vines per HA.

"At once flinty and peachy with fantastic brilliance, this is a great Nahe riesling GG. As expressive as it is elegant, it moves effortlessly on what appear to be high-heeled shoes of slatey minerality. Needs some time to give its best, but this offers so much excitement. Very long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2026."

"The 2023 Riesling Münsterer Im Pitterberg Grosses Gewächs is immediately vibrant with bright lemon on the nose. On the palate, that lemon is smooth with lemon oil, impeded by just a little pith, but joyous, energetic and bright. The finish is gorgeously taut and breezy and so long. (Bone-dry)"

"Rumpf's 2023 Im Pitterberg GG has cool, delicate and stony fruit with a salty background on the deep, concentrated and elegant nose. It is creamy on the palate yet spicy and elegant, though currently lacking the charm and spice of the best vintages. Dense and powerful, yes, but it's not particularly dance-like at the moment. Tasted at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden in August 2024."
