"As always, this site has yielded a wine that has a Mosel-like raciness and sleekness, but the bergamot, orange blossom and shiso leaf aromas give this its own distinct personality. Elegant, but also very expressive on the cool, precisely detailed, medium-bodied palate. Drink or hold."

"Tasted again after nearly six months since the first tasting in Wiesbaden, Diel's 2022 Riesling Pittermännchen GG opens with a deep, intense and elegant nose that is characterized by its intense, mineral expression of gray slate. Fresh and with lemony notes at the tickled edges of the tongue, this is a juicy, firm, straightforward and actually slender Riesling with an astonishing amount of juice, an even more astonishing amount of salt and salivating, slightly citrusy length. It's very young but quite classically shaped for this very hot and, above all, dry vintage. The weathered soil nevertheless seemed well supplied here. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in Burg Layen in February 2025."

"The 2022 Riesling Dorsheimer Pittermännchen Grosses Gewächs was grown on the Devonian slate. The nose is still slightly clouded by reduction. The palate is very fluid, cool, soothing, stony and lemony. There are edges of lemon pith and more of that yeasty texture with a pleasantly astringent finish that casts its lemon length far. The lemon notes accentuate the salty, stony length. (Bone-dry)"
