Starscape Vineyard is located in the Northern part of Russian River Valley bordering Mark West Creek within the unofficial sub-region known as Middle Reach. Planted in 1971, these old Martini clone vines are among the oldest known Pinot Noir in Russian River. The effects of annual flooding mark these craggy, thick 47-year old vines yielding less than a ton an acre. I’m so pleased with the unique character and striking quality this old vineyard delivers.
Starscape renders a dark, rich, impenetrable ruby core. The rich color gives way to aromas of dark cherry, crushed Fall forest leaves and clove. Black tea, blueberries and pomegranate with nicely integrated mid-palate green tea tannins. A lasting finish begs for food like duck pate.

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Starscape handled the rigors of the growing season admirably. Potent and deep, with notable resonance, the 2022 offers up an exotic mélange of dark cherry, plum, spice, lavender, new leather, licorice and gravel. The darker side of Martini clone Pinot comes through in this resonant, super-expressive offering."
