"Intensely earthy with rich brown spices, truffle notes, and dried rose petals. Gorgeously pure and supple dark berry fruit turns expressively boysenberry scented. Medium-bodied with saline-rich minerality, coiled-up tension, and excellent grip. Long and focused. Swan, Calera, 115, 667, Pommard clones. 400 cases. Co-founders Drew and Laurie Duncan started visiting the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County after looking for property in the Anderson Valley and Sonoma Coast. They found what they sought in 2013 and locked into 285 acres along Santa Rosa Road and the Santa Ynez River, east of Sanford & Benedict. They have planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Gamay. Their winemaker is Ernst Storm."

"A precise, well-balanced and medium-bodied wine that's alive with tangy cherry and black tea flavors. Offers good complexity, light and lively tannins and a sense of tension and linearity. From organically grown grapes. Drink now or hold."
