"Coming from the top of Seven Springs Vineyard, here the winds from the Van Duzer Gap are intense. Earth and forest floor aromatics at the outset, dried morels, pine tar, and fresh garden soil brightened by a hint of smoky blood orange peel. The palate keeps the brooding intensity going, with flavours of ripe black plum, black tea, dried anise and black bramble fruits. There's a silken character to the mouthfeel, gorgeous tannins, floral notes and brightly balanced dark fruits all make for a heady experience and this bottling from the Seven Springs Estate is one of the vintage's best."

"A wine of depth and density, this red remains light on its feet. Compelling raspberry flavors are layered with notes of forest floor, star anise and savory spices that build richness and tension toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2034. 544 cases made."

"Sourced from the very top of the Seven Springs Vineyard, this block of vines gets the most heat in the day and the most cooling effect from evening breezes. Very concentrated, structured and tannic, with the powerful black cherry and sour cherry flavors to fill it out nicely. Medium-bodied and muscular. Best from 2027 and well beyond."

"An understated beauty, the 2022 Pinot Noir La Source opens with a nuanced bouquet, with dusty florals giving way to hints of blood orange and violet florals. It's a model of purity with cooling acidity and crisp red fruits, taking on more brassy notes toward the close as juicy acidity enlivens the senses. The 2022 tapers off with a spicy tinge, leaving the mouth watering for more as hints of citrus contrast dusty tannins. The La Source is produced using 20-30% while clusters."

"#65 Top 100 Cellar Selections 2024: Even at this tender young age, La Source is a force to be reckoned with. Licorice and dark raspberry aromas lure you into a forest of scents that include crunchy dry leaf litter and morels. Red currant and orange zest flavors are joined by a touch of toasted marshmallow. Firm tannins and brisk acidity are ready to shepherd this wine until 2036–2038. — Michael Alberty"

"The 2022 Pinot Noir La Source, fermented with 33% whole clusters, has layered scents of pomegranate, blackberry, mixed tea leaves, aniseed and lavender. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated, fragrant flavors. It's structured by chalky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, nuanced finish."

"The 2021 Pinot Noir La Source is a total pleasure on the nose, with a flower shop bouquet and masses of crushed blackberry and sweet smoke that keep me coming back to the glass again and again. It displays fantastic balance, with ripe wild berry fruits and hints of sour citrus that flow across silken textural waves. Fine-grained tannins combine with a saline concentration as residual acidity puckers the cheeks through the long and classically structured finale. The 2021 is a gorgeous interpretation of the vintage."

"Pale ruby verging on purple in colour. Bright red and black cherry on the nose, hibiscus and cardamom spice. The palate is gentler than the Seven Springs entry bottling. Acid is still high but more rounded. Super-fine tannin with well-integrated oak spice and notes of vanilla. (SCJ) 13.2%"
