"A vivid, translucent crimson estate blend, this year with a significant contribution from Dunns Creek, a more southerly vineyard, on volcanic soils (as opposed to sandy loam). Lovely texture and layer, with ruffled, savoury, tobacco tannins and star anise/liquorice-edged al dente red cherry, blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf and sweeter strawberry flesh. Nice detail and trim in this vintage, despite being from a warm, dry early ripening season."

"Primary red fruit † strawberry, raspberry, perhaps a bit of reductive rubberiness? Fine tannic grip, excellent intensity that balances with integrated acid and a fragrant floral persistence. (RH) 13.5%"

"#31 Best 50 Wines of 2023: Established in 1982 by Richard and Jill McIntyre, Moorooduc Estate became a pioneering winery in Australia's cool-climate Mornington Peninsula region. The small, family winery sources from vineyards in the Moorooduc area, focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The region's cooling maritime breezes come through in the freshness of this wine. There are bright red fruits like tangy pomegranate seeds and cherries, coupled with mushrooms, spices, and wild herbs. With each sip the palate reveals even more intriguing savory elements."

"The 2019 Pinot Noir is packed with red berry/cherry flavor and shaped by finely chalky, almost grippy tannins in the mouth. This is pleasurable and satisfying, with concentration that coasts and curls its way across the palate and through to the finish. "

"Bright and juicy, featuring cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry puree at the core, with details of cumin, white pepper and mint. Reveals a lingering note of clove on the supple finish. Drink now. 900 cases made, 150 cases imported."
