"The 2021 The Moorooduc McIntyre Pinot Noir is aromatically subtle and fine, with a gentle persuasion of cherries and exotic spice (sumac, et al.), pressed lavender, pomegranate molasses and rose petals. In the mouth, the wine is very fine, long and balanced—it is weighted evenly front to back, and the fruit sits well within the confines of the tannins. The oak shows through quite a bit, surprisingly, given the fine frame of the wine. Painted in watercolor as opposed to oils. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap."

"The deepest hue of the Moorooduc 2019 Pinots, as befits this flagship of the McIntyre family,s Mornington Peninsula vineyard. Warming kirsch lends oomph to the upfront, fleshy and ripe red berry, cherry and plum fruit palate. Ripe but present chamois tannins, earthier beetroot, sous bois, tobacco leaf and musky sandalwood bring attractive savoury intensity and gravitas to the lingering finish."

"The 2019 The Moorooduc McIntyre Pinot Noir is clearly built for the longer haul: the tannins are firmer and tighter in the mouth (I like them like this, but that's a style choice), and the fruit has weight and presence. The fruit is warm, as was the vintage, but it doesn't impede the flow or discourse of flavor across the palate. The length through the finish is the final tell-all. The construction is classy‡this wine is well built and elegant, with all corners packed with concentrated fruit. Lovely. Pleasure"

"Herbal nose, very intense rich red fruit on the palate with a long fragrant finish. Delicate fragrance yet hearty and full. Furry texture thanks to generous but well-rounded tannins. A more brooding style than their Robinson. (RH) 13.5%"
