Pinot Noir 'Estate-Old Vine'

Pinot Noir EstateOld Vine Patricia Green

The difference between the older and younger blocks here is always pretty amazing to people. As the vines continue to age these older vines continue to sink deep root systems into the soft sandstone sub-soil. Our water is spring fed and very minerally in nature. That is what these older vines have tapped into and that is what they pull up and put into the fruit.

"Pale ruby in colour. Red-cherry yogurt and orange oil on the nose with just a hint of clove. Fresh acidity and good concentration with lightly astringent tannin. A hint of odd, lightly vegetal, ashy character on the finish. (SCJ)"

"A killer value, the bright red 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard Old Vine boasts a highly complex and layered nose of spiced cherries, lifted spice, rose petal perfume, iron-rich earth, and hibiscus. Medium-bodied and tension-packed at this stage, it's linear and coiled with great energy. Long on the palate, it's a ton of wine for the price. It's going to be worth holding onto and drinking over the next 10-15 years."

"The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard Old Vine slowly evolves in the glass as a delicate blend of dusty florals and autumnal spices gives way to peppery wild berries. It's round and soothing on the palate with tart red fruits guided by juicy acidity - inner rosy florals cascade throughout. It tapers off spicy and long, classically dry yet only lightly tannic, leaving a slowly fading crunchy sensation."
