"It is really hard to understand how the hot and dry 2022 growing season could have yielded a dry riesling with this level of mind-bending concentration and wet stone minerality. This astonishing wine conclusively proves that riesling can not only cope with climate change, but can shine in this challenging new context. And that is what it does to the highest degree at the endless finish of this. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan. Drink or hold."

"The 2022 Riesling Forster Pechstein G.C., from the basalt-rich Pechstein, even tries to keep its reduction to itself. The nose is tender; only much swirling gives a glimpse of tangerine. The palate is taut, and hints of stony, salty savor cling to the subtle red apple and tangerine fruit. The mouthfeel is fluid and smooth, but the driven linearity is a bundle of energy. This is the first wine in this entire portfolio to show a little heat. This is like a beast raring to go, brooding, prowling, planning its attack, then flashing a smile of aromatic citrus. What a tease. What a wine. This needs to be left alone to become itself. Svelte, immense. (Bone-dry)"
