The Lenchen at one point was a stream that was formed by mountain run-off, because of this there is more gravel present than in surrounding vineyards hence it has better drainage. Beneath the soil a river still flows which naturally irrigates the vineyard.

"This Rheingau riesling Kabinett has wonderful juiciness, yet manages to retain the light body that fits neatly into the animating flavor profile of this category. Plenty of citrus and white peach character. Drink or hold. Screw cap."

"The 2022 Riesling Oestricher Lenchen Kabinett was harvested between 6-10 October from the deep soils of the Lenchen site, benefitting from afternoon and evening sun, so the acidity is preserved and predestines this for Kabinett wines. The nose unites ripe, crunchy apple, white peach and citrus. The palate trumps with freshness and is sweet on the mid-palate, channeling ripe red apple, mandarin juice and gentle sweetness with a pithy note. It's on the sweet side for a Kabinett but vibrant with freshness. There's 45g/L of residual sweetness and almost 9g/L of acidity. (Sweet)"

"Very perfumed for a Rheingau Kabinett with stacks of spring flower aromas and a wonderful light-footedness on the bright and lovely palate. There's no denying the touch of unfermented grape sweetness, but it is well integrated. Drink now. Screw cap."
