"The 2022 Riesling Deidesheimer Mäushöhle Erste Lage, grown on a mix of sandstone and limestone, was fermented spontaneously in Doppelstück and stayed on gross lees until bottling in July 2023. It opens with slight creaminess where notions of peach become gently apparent. This fruity-creamy combination also takes hold on the light, bright, lemony palate to present fine freshness. This is elegant and energetic with a dry, lemony finish. (Dry)"

"The 2022 Deidesheimer Mäushöhle Riesling Trocken VDP.Erste Lage is deep, intense and concentrated on the remarkably intense and complex nose that puts this 1er cru very near to the grands crus from Forst rather than Deidesheim. The soils of the sloping Mäushöhle consist of loam to sandy loam and in some places boulders, sandy clays and occasional sandstone weathering. This complexity gives a full-bodied, dense and structured yet also juicy Riesling with a serious mineral backbone and a long, complex finish. I have rarely tasted the quality of the Mäushöhle this strong. Bottled with 12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted in July 2024."
