"The 2019 Malbec EGGO Tinto de Tiza hails from chalky soils in Gualtallary, Uco Valley and spent ten months in concrete eggs. Purple with a murky sheen. The reductive, herbal nose delivers ash, hints of blood, mountain herbs and blackcurrant notes. The palate is dry, chalky and lean. The wine's medium body and juicy mouthfeel establish a compact flow and austere palate. The 2019 is a modern, high-altitude Malbec."

"The superb 2019 Eggo Tinto de Tiza is one of the bargains here. It's a showy, aromatic and elegant Malbec with ripeness, floral aromas, great precision, very fine tannins, very tasty flavors and an almost salty finish. This range matures exclusively in concrete egg. It comes from a very complete and cooler year (cooler than 2018). It opens up nicely in the glass. This is accessible now but should also mature in bottle, as it has the components and the balance between them. This has the wilderness from the Malbecs from Gualtallary and the Michelini twist. This is affordable and should be readily available, as they produced 35,000 bottles. It was bottled in February 2020 after 11 months in egg. I had the chance to taste the first vintage of this wine, 2012, when it also had some Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and the wine, despite being from a different oenological era, is still young and lively."
