"From vines planted in the late 1950s, the intensely golden-yellow colored 2021 Jaspis Grauer Burgunder Würmelin is incredibly deep, intense and complex on the nose, and I am sure none of you readers have had a deeper, more multilayered or at least fascinating Pinot Gris ever, no matter if dry or sweet. Rich yet refined and textural on the palate, this is an intense, saline and structural Pinot that develops enormous intensity, salinity and mineral tension. The tannins of this wine are those from a red and firm Pinot Noir due to 20% to 25% of maceration and 24 to 25 hours of hydraulic pressing. This 2021 comes along as a relative to Meursault. It's an incredible wine. 12.5% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in February 2024."
