"Youthfully tense and tightly wound, the 2020 Aglianico Cinque Querce smolders up with an array of dried florals and ashen stone, lifted by a mentholated herbal tinge. This is showier within, with a polished wave of ripe black fruits and sweet spice contrasted by hints of sour citrus. Grippy tannins amass toward the close. The 2020 finishes structured and long, with a coating of primary concentration that adds further tension yet also promises many years of positive development."
