Ried Loiserberg:
Loiserberg is located next to the Vogelsang mountain, but the slope faces south to south-east and is somewhat more sheltered from the wind compared to the Vogelsang mountain. There are mountain vineyards up to 380m above sea level, windy and with temperature extremes. Apart from the loess deposits, which become stronger towards the south-east, and the occasional marble lenses, predominantly lime-free rocky brown earths form over silicate crystalline rocks such as paragneiss (Gföhler gneiss), mica schist and amphibolite (Loiserberg “zoisite-amphibolite”), which alternate narrowly.

"At once ripe and structured, but with a wonderful creamy texture and subtle minerality, this is a beautiful, medium-bodied gruner veltliner. Lots of Amalfi-lemon character with great leesy complexity. Very long, stony finish. From organically grown grapes."

"Smells spicy, rich and white-peppery. Not as rich on the palate as I expected from the aroma. Lightly chewy texture adds depth, moderate length. (JH)"

"The 2023 Grüner Veltliner Ried Loiserberg is site exposed to cool influences from the Waldviertel, on gneiss, at some elevation and with slight loess cover, fermented in stainless steel and large, neutral barrels. Just a flicker of reduction appears on the shy nose, almost with a walnut skin vibe, somehow promising saltiness. The palate comes in with crisp, green apple freshness. A walnut and yeast combination is savory and salty on a fluid, concentrated body of vivid slenderness with the merest touch of creaminess from oak. The 2023 is elegant and understated. (Bone-dry)"
