Forthave continues to illustrate the rewards of playful experimentation with their annually released génépi liqueur, YELLOW. Génépi flowers—the alpine plant indispensable to the DNA of classic French and Italian bitter liqueurs—undergoes separate macerations in sugarcane distillate and water for varying lengths of time, and only a portion of these macerations are distilled before a dialed-in blend of all components is created. The result is a focused yet dimensional fortified wine that works as well in a simple highball with tonic as it does as a vermouth substitute in Spring-minded Martinis, Negronis, and Bamboos (to name only a few).
