"The beautiful, perfumed nature of this wine is so seductive with medium body and superfine, almost endless tannins. So drinkable but even better in two or three years."

"Of all the estate's cru offerings, this is the one with the highest altitude, 900-1,000m above sea level where the lean soils are composed of volcanic sand, rubble and a small amount of ash. Guardiola is almost always closed and austere in its youth and the 2022 is no exception. It opens with aromas of French oak, camphor and dark spice that on the palate become licorice, coconut, menthol, Morello cherry and flinty mineral. Rather grainy tannins and an acidic backbone need time to fully integrate, but this shows very good aging potential. Drink 2028–2037. Abv: 14.5% Kerin O'Keefe July 2024"

"A gorgeous blend of dusty rose, incense, dried strawberries, stone dust and violet candies wafts up as the 2022 Etna Rosso Guardiola slowly awakens in the glass. This is creamy in feel yet lifted and energetic. Masses of ripe red and blue fruits saturate as tactile mineral tones settle in under an air of confectionery spice. Dramatically long and staining, the 2022 tapers off with youthful tension and crunchy tannins while a floral resonance persists. This is a seductive and rich Guardiola that displays fantastic balance."
