Destilado de Agave, Azul Telcruz/Ixtero Amarillo
Destilado de Agave, Azul Telcruz/Ixtero Amarillo
- Destilado de Agave, produced in Zapotitlán, Jalisco, Mexico
- Maestros Mezcaleros Macurio & Miguel Partida
- Made from a blend of Azul Telcruz (Agave angustifolia) and Ixtero Amarillo (Agave rhodacantha)
- Agave is cooked in an earthen pit oven, using a mixture of mesquite & guamúchil wood
- Milled using axe & mallet
- Fermented with natural yeasts in deep stone wells
- Distilled three times in hybrid Filipino-style stills made of a copper pot, hollow parota tree trunk, and rolled agave leaf (penca)
- A summer banger that evokes wet swim trunks and sipping fine spirits by the pool! An angular and assertive nose with sharp aromatics of pineapple skin and Sichuan beef jerky is followed by generous tropical fruits: ripe honeydew, watermelon, gooseberry, and strawberry seeds; a whiff of mesquite and parmesan rind seal the deal before the palate bursts with juicy fruits, pine needles, and a faintly tannic finish
- 113 liters produced; rested 7 years in glass before bottling
- 48.2% ABV
