"A medium yellow golden color, the 2013 Champagne Grand Cru Hautes Mottes Brut Nature is from the estate's oldest parcel, adjacent to Les Chetillons, from 60-year-old vines. Raised in old barrels, it's more savory and hints at the barrel aging on the nose, with notes of toasted spice, golden apples, chamomile, and brothy salinity. Medium-bodied, it has broader shoulders on the palate, with a more pithy texture and a bit of phenolic richness on its long finish. It's an assertive wine that will stand up well at the table to roast chicken, etc. Drink over the coming 15-20 years."

"The 2013 Brut Nature Hautes Mottes Grand Cru is powerful and dense. Showing savory and mineral-driven elements, the 2013 displays more richness and flavor because of its aging in 350L barrels. Apricot, hazelnut, spice, pastry and baked apple tart are some notes that build in the glass, finishing with bright acids that lend freshness. This is a fine choice for readers looking for a Champagne with some volume. Powerful and a bit rough around the edges, this is an intriguing offering. Zero dosage. Disgorged: November 24, 2022."
