‘Ojo Gallo’, Castellano for ‘rooster eye’ (in other words, what the French call ‘oeil de perdrix’), hearkens back to the traditional clarete style of the region. This dark rosé (light red?) is a field blend of very old vines of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal, Monastrell, Viura, Albillo and Malvasia co-fermented in cement and raised for 8 months in used barrels before bottling without added sulfur for peak drinkability. Delicious!

"The darker rosé 2022 Ojo de Gallo could be taken as a light red, with its bright cherry color and ripe nose of berries with a spicy twist. It reflects a warmer and riper year with 14% alcohol and round and fleshy, medium to full-bodied palate with clout and persistence."

"This is more like a claret, with some funk and wild red berries. The texture is soft and creamy, with some juicy fruit and dark earth. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Very drinkable now."
