- 100% Chenin Blanc
- Planted right next to Skaliekop on decomposed granite in 1981 on the Paardebosch farm (a tractor road separates the two)
- David & Nadia have been farming this vineyard since winter 2013 and it has been a pillar in their granite approach towards their white wines
- Plat’Bos, like with the other two single vineyards, are true to the local dialect of the people from the Siebritskloof whom have been working with this vineyard long before they became involved on the Paardebosch farm. “Plat” means low or flat and “bos” means bush (vines). It refers to the small, low bush vines, true to the mountain and typical of the Swartland dialect
- Grapes were harvested in the second part of January, being one of the earliest Chenin Blanc vineyards that David & Nadia work with, planted on a northern slope
- Harvesting took place over 5 picking dates and all lots were fermented and aged separately in old French barrels
- Plat’bos is one of four of the wines qualifying for the Old Vine Project (OVP) seal
