- 100% Chenin Blanc
- A north facing vineyard, planted next to Skaliekop on decomposed granite in 1981 on the Paardebosch farm
- This is the 2nd vintage of the Plat’bos Chenin Blanc
- This vineyard also contributes to their main Chenin Blanc as well as Aristargos
- They have been farming this vineyard since winter 2013 and it has been a pillar in their granite approach towards the white wines.
- The wine has a directness with a fresh, saline-like linearity and amazing tension and length, something so typical of the Paardeberg
- Plat’bos, like with the other two single vineyards, are true to the local dialect of the people from the Siebritskloof whom have been working with this vineyard long before they became involved on the Paardebosch farm. “Plat” means low or flat and “bos” means bush (vines). It refers to the small, low bush vines, true to the mountain and typical of the Swartland dialect
- Harvested in the first half of the second part of January, being one of the earliest Chenin Blanc vineyards they work with
- Plat’bos is their fourth wine qualifying for the Old Vine Project (OVP) seal
