"In a rich mode, this wine's smells like only chenin can in its tableau of honey, pear and citrus. It sustains bright acidity-no easy feat in the heat of the Swartland-to structure the approach, communicating a firm minerality that structures the warm flavors in the middle and end. It's dynamic, precise and elegant chenin channeling its terroir-deep-rooted vines in clay-rich koffieklip soils."

"I like the savory herb and oyster-shell undertones to the stone-fruit and honey aromas. Full-bodied and silky with a round, deliciously broad midpalate, it's fleshy, complemented by a salty freshness. Drink or hold."

"A distinctive white, with toasty glazed pear, roasted nut, butterscotch and spice notes well-integrated with hints of orange peel, white raspberry, heather and minerally smoke and slate. A vibrant coil of acidity keeps this limber and well-defined through the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2028. -A.N."

"The 2023 Chenin Blanc Iron marks its return to the portfolio after did not produce one in 2022. This has a more backward nose compared to the Granite cuvee, with touches of lanolin and hints of yellow fruit. The palate is much more expressive than the aromatics. It has a wonderful oily texture and plenty of depth and extract. It's spicier than the Granite, with a long tail on the finish. Try to give this two or three years in bottle."
