- 100% Chenin Blanc
- The Hoë-Steen vineyard is 2HA in size and planted in 1968, west of Malmesbury towards Darling
- Deep, red iron and clay-rich soils that are most probably the deepest soils David and Nadia work with
- Late ripening block due to south facing slopes
- The vineyard was planted on a “massale” selection method, with a recent discovery of some Cape Riesling (Crouchen Blanc), False Pedro, Palomino, Sémillon and Clairette Blanche vines
- The vineyard remains predominantly Steen and is part of the Cape’s old vineyard history
- Hand harvested over 3 pickings and matured in old French oak barrels for 1 year
- Certified Heritage Vineyards (CHV) seal and forms part of the Old Vine Project (OVP)
