"The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint Jean 1er Cru was stunning from barrel. It has a taut and fresh nose, still a little backward, opening with lemon sherbet, orange pith and hints of dried honey. The palate is well-balanced with a smooth, elegant and poised entry. There's a real umami sensation here with traces of Golden Delicious and quince on the finish. Excellent. Tasted at the Stannary Wines dinner in London with Thierry Pillot."
