"This innovative cabernet franc from the Finger Lakes has a complex interplay of smoky oak with a wealth of dried herb and rooty aromas, all underlined by delicate red currant and black strawberry fruit. The sophisticated, silky tannins on the palate remind me of high-end red Loire wine, and there's a savory complexity in the very long finish that's really fascinating. Limited production. "The 2023 Cabernet Franc Lahoma Vineyards was fermented and aged in a 1500-liter oak tank. Brilliantly juicy and medium in body, the 2023 is an elegant Franc in every way. Purple flowers, sweet cherries, barely ripe strawberries and green herbs meet with a scintillating hint of black pepper that seasons the finish. Soft-textured and mouthwatering. Well done."
