"The 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is a jeweled ruby/red color and has a very lovely, complete feel with aromas of cherry liqueur, raspberries, candied licorice, balsamic herbs, and sage. It's beautiful and saturated and floats on the long palate, with a medium to full frame, a supple, ripe feel, and lovely freshness. It has the ability to improve and drink well over the coming 20 years."

"Aromas of fragrant purple flower mingle with spiced plum and Mediterranean scrub on the bold 2020 Uccelliera Brunello. It's enveloping and delicious, doling out raspberry jam, fleshy Marasca cherry, licorice and grilled sage accompanied by velvety tannins. A hint of spiced orange zest brightens the finish. Drink 2027–2032. Abv: 15% Kerin O'Keefe November 2024"

"The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is spellbinding. Youthfully coy, it features a minty freshness and wild herbal thrust, giving way to bright cherry-berry fruit complicated by hints of worn leather. This is energetic and spry, yet elegant to the core, with crisp wild berries and a cascade of sweet spice elevated by zesty acidity. Tannic and potent yet still fresh, the 2020 lingers with a resonance of tart cranberry and sour citrus that leaves the cheeks puckered and the palate thirsting for more. This is a wild vintage of Uccelliera's Brunello di Montalcino. It's structured for the long haul yet already such a pleasure to taste."

"A compressed and fresh 2020 Brunello with red-cherry, plum and peach character. Medium body, fine tannins and a tangy finish. Give this two or three years to open and soften, but it's already crunchy and fresh. Delicious in fact. Best after 2026."

"This red is both rich and vibrant, offering cherry, strawberry, floral and mineral flavors. Elegant, with flashes of wild herbs and earth peeking through. A harmonious version, leaving a mouthwatering impression on the lingering aftertaste. Best from 2026 through 2042. 2,800 cases made, 1,400 cases imported."

"The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino shows a dark color and earthy notes that lean into oxidation. The wine's alcohol content is a potent 15%. The bouquet does not show the same clarity as past vintages, but you do get plenty of baked plum and blackcurrant. This is not my favorite vintage from one of my favorite producers. The wine ends with accessible, open-knit tannins. Production is 33,600 bottles plus larger formats."

"Mid ruby with orange tinges. A nose that already shows some development, with hints of sour cherry, but is overall rather subdued. Supple cherry fruit with gravelly tannins, but lacks a little in fruit concentration on the finish. (WS)"

"A ripe red color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is expressive of its place, with warming notes of licorice, black cherries, anise, cedar, and dark soil lifting from the glass. As it opens, it becomes purer in its fruit profile, shining through beautifully. Full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a savory slanting profile, notes of espresso and mocha float across the palate, filling it with purity of fruit and lovely concentration through its long finish. It's a fantastic Brunello with a warming richness that can stand up to hearty winter foods and will be best enjoyed over the next 15 years. Drink 2026-2040."

"Brooding yet intense, the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino bursts from the glass with a wave of autumnal spices, crushed cherries, cedar shavings and steeped plums lifted by pine hints. This is deeply textural, elegant and refined, with a dense wave of ripe wild berry fruits, all guided by vibrant acidity, offset by oranges and balsam herbs. It finishes grippy and extended with a black hole of tension and a sweet and sour sensation that lingers on and on as crunchy tannins resonate throughout. The 2019 is youthfully backward today, yet there's a balance that can't be denied, especially as I watched it open up over twenty-four hours. This is a total pleasure to taste. Bury the 2019 deep in the cellar."

"The Uccelliera 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers ripe fruit, a note of cooked blackberry and pomegranate juice. Along with oak spice and dried bay leaf, there is a spot of creaminess on the mid-palate that recalls cheese rind or aged chèvre with a crust of black pepper and thyme. That note blows off, however, and the wine returns to dried cherry with a medicinal or herbal twist. There's a lot going on. The wine needs more time in bottle to address the fine, chalky tannins. It is elegant now but poised to improve. Production is 36,000 bottles plus larger formats."

"Good medium red-ruby. Expressive nose offers ripe red cherry, salted plum, coffee, and dried flowers, with a slightly roasted note in the background. Nicely concentrated flavours of crystallized red cherry, mocha and nutty oak boast an attractive pliant quality. Quite broad and offering plenty of early appeal on entry, but turns mountingly tannic. This has the structure for thirty years of development in bottle. Drinking window: 2034-2046."

"The nose opens with salinity, cool earth, coffee grinds, crushed rocks and licorice, then softens with peonies and cherry blossoms. The palate brings invigorating, tangy wild cherry and raspberry, while clinging, dense tannins provide structure. — Danielle Callegari"

"Dense and muscular, this red delivers a broad swath of cherry, plum and floral flavors, supplemented by iron, eucalyptus and sanguine notes. Tightens up on the finish, leaving a compact impression, yet this is persistent overall. Best from 2027 through 2045. —B.S."

"Having tasted its component parts from barrel in 2021, I was fascinated to see how Uccelliera's Brunello came together. Andrea Cortonesi assembles this from a handful of plots all located in the denomination's southeastern corner. It opens with fragrances redolent of cedar and pine forest, undergrowth and leather. Full and vigorous, the palate is foursquare rather than round. A compact core of dark cherry is surrounded by chewy, generously extracted tannins. A touch of dryness from wood pokes through. Nevertheless, this feels very genuine and underlying acidity gives a lightening effect."

"The Uccelliera 2019 Brunello Riserva has balsamic aromas of camphor that mingle with baked plum, leather, forest floor and oak-driven spice. Bold and brawny, the muscular, concentrated palate recalls blackberry brandy, prune, licorice, coconut and vanilla bean before closing on the heat of evident alcohol. Tightly woven, compacted tannins provide the framework. This is for fans of sheer power. Drink 2029–2034. Abv: 15.5% Kerin O'Keefe November 2024"
