"Shining with bright strawberry, cherry and floral aromas and flavors, this red also sports mineral, tobacco and sweet spice notes. Intense, energetic and impeccably balanced (though needing a little time to absorb the oak), this is fresh and long on the aftertaste. More elegant than powerful. Best from 2027 through 2045.—B.S."

"A precise and quite fruity wine, showing earthy strawberries, red berries and graphite in a reductive, waxy style. The attack is graceful with medium body, yet tannins become grainy and hard, sustained by crisp acidity. Better in a couple of years."

"The 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva Le Raunate displays a jeweled ruby/red color and delivers a deeper profile on the nose, with aromas of sour black cherries, leather, mossy earth, and fresh tobacco. It fills the palate with broader shoulders, ripe tannins, zesty acidity, and lots of length and persistence on the finish. It has a slightly rustic feel throughout, with good complexity and balance. Drink 2026-2040."

"Fragrant blue flower, Mediterranean scrub, crushed mint and wild berry aromas waft out of the glass. Smooth and savory, the elegant palate delivers red plum, ripe cherry, nutmeg and cinnamon supported by polished tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it well balanced. Drink 2029–2036. Abv: 14% Kerin O'Keefe"

"Mid to deep ruby with orange tinges. Lots of sweet-sour cherry on the nose with hints of gingerbread. Lashings of sweet-sour cherry and with much finer tannins than the straight Riserva. Concentrated cherry on the finish with an echo of oak. Pushes all the buttons but ideally should get an additional year or two in bottle. (WS)"
