"An elegant Brunello, showing bright raspberries and cherries, blood oranges and flowery notes allied to slightly nutty depth. Full-bodied, this has velvety tannins and crisp acidity with intense savoriness, ripeness and length. Chewy tension in the aftertaste. Drink or hold."

"Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Very slowly opening up to marasca cherry on the nose and with savoury-spice touches and a suggestion of oak. Very closed and curled up on the palate, there is real purity of fruit that tries to stand up to bags of powdery tannins. Slightly unbalanced but more bottle age might do the trick. (WS)"

"The fantastic 2019 Vigna Montosoli Riserva captures the spirit of this outstanding vintage. It boasts classic Sangiovese aromas of bright red berry, forest floor, blue flower and eucalyptus that on the palate segue into succulent wild cherry, crushed raspberry, licorice and a hint of spiced orange peel. Firm, refined tannins provide the backbone while bright acidity keeps it balanced and energized. It's still youthfully austere and promises great aging potential. Drink 2029–2044."

"Dusty and floral, the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Montosoli lifts from the glass with a darkly alluring bouquet of exotic spices, crushed racks and dried black cherries. It glides across the palate, lifted and refined, with juicy wild berry fruits and violet inner florals that form toward the close. This finishes structured and long with a staining of primary concentration and grippy tannins that tug at the cheeks. The 2018 is beautifully balanced for a long and steady evolution."
