"I like the floral and herb undertones to this, with potpourri, thyme, bramble berries, cherries and lemons. Bright and tangy yet full-bodied, with silky tannins and ripe, juicy fruit. Zesty finish. Drink or hold."

"Dark ruby with bricky rim. A little stalky and reductive on the nose while hinting at oak and exotic spice. Supple, ripe, dark fruit with lots of tangy acidity and underlying, slightly dry tannins, but the fruit leads on the finish. (WS)"

"Savory and herbaceous, the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino offers heady aromas of fresh leather, dried black cherry, balsamic, and toasted cedar. It is medium to full-bodied, with dark fruit and earth tones of turned soil, saline, cherry pit, plum pit, tea leaf, and medicinal herbs. Drink 2025-2030."

"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino slowly comes to life in the glass with a dark array of steeped plums, lavender and crushed rocks. It,s silky, almost creamy, in texture, with ripe red and black fruits complemented by sweet inner herbal tones and brisk acidity. The 2018 finishes structured and powerful, yet balanced, as a collection of minerals adds a crunchy sensation under an air of violet-tinged inner florals. Mocali did a fine job of integrating the exotic qualities of the vintage with their house style. Well done."

"A dense, slightly rustic red, with burly tannins dominating plum, cherry, tamarind paste, earth and iron flavors. Manages to show fruit under those broad shoulders and isn't overly astringent, so give this a few years to integrate (or decant now). Best from 2026 through 2042. "

"Starts with black cherries, violets and bark, followed by a hint of crushed rock. Medium-bodied with stringent tannins. Still tight and a little lean now, this needs more time to soften. Better after 2025."

"Dark, maturing ruby with orange tinges. Rich and concentrated and even a little overripe on the nose. Sappy and lush, but not showing a lot of definition on the palate. Slightly drying tannins on the finish might indicate a forced delayed picking. (WS) 14%"

"The 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Delle Raunate takes a second to open in the glass and then reveals ripe aromas of red plums, tar, and balsamic herbs, and a delicate and pleasing rustic note of saddle leather. Medium to full-bodied, it has lovely concentration on the palate, with ripe tannins, good purity, and notes of black tea on the finish. It's a very well styled wine to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years."

"Bright red. Easygoing aromas and flavours of red cherry and sweet spices. Boasts very nice acid/sugar/tannin/fruit balance, making for a suave, nicely approachable drink. Closes nicely pure, fresh and long. Drinking window: 2028-2036."

"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino wafts up with a dark and dusty bouquet as dried flowers and crushed stone give way to red currants. It's soft textured with tactile mineral tones up front, adding a crunchy character to the tart wild berry fruits within. The 2019 finishes long and staining, leaving a tinge of balsamic spice and a liquid stone sensation that mellows over a bed of fine tannins. This is a brighter style for Mocali, and I like it quite a bit."

"This is a richly textured Sangiovese with sweet plum, cooked cherry, spice and crème de cassis. The Mocali 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is a wine focused mostly on texture and mouthfeel. It imparts nice weight to the palate with fine, chalky tannins."

"Though tightly wound, there's a core of concentrated cherry and plum to this red, along with accents of earth, tobacco and rosemary. Fresh and balanced, leaving a layer of fine tannins on the extended finish. Best from 2027 through 2042. 4,200 cases made, 3,000 cases imported."
